Leonardo da Vinci Project |
The Leonardo da Vinci programme is part of the European Union’s ‘Lifelong Learning Programme’. Underway since 1 January 2007, the programme is in effect till December 2013.
The programme is aimed at promoting employee mobility on the European job market, and implementing innovative educational concepts for raising professional qualifications.
It promotes innovative approaches to education and professional improvement, in such a way for the instructional systems to respond as best as possible to the requirements of the job market. The Leonardo da Vinci programme also supports the mobility of employees on the European job market.
The development of innovation plus the modernisation of lifelong learning systems is achieved via so-called thematic projects, whilst mobility on the European job market is furthered via exchange and intern projects.
The projects give their participants the opportunity to get involved in international cooperation and organise foreign intern placements, and make it possible for teachers, trainers and instructors to improve their methodological skills.
The range of opportunities for improving the qualifications of staff managing education and lifelong learning is supplemented by Study visits.
The Leonardo da Vinci programme works closely with the EUROPASS centre which since January 2009 has been located at Poland’s Foundation for the Development of the Education System.
